Friday {weekend} Favorites

The weeks have been dragging by so slowly.. by the time the weekend comes all I can think about is relaxation. Over the weekend I live in nice, comfy clothes. The weekend is about relaxing, but let's be real... there is still cleaning & normal weekend errands to be done, so being in comfortable clothes makes it so much better.

Right now, I am dying over these Nike's. They are on the way to my house as we speak & I cannot wait! I got mine from J. Crew & they have a few others colors that are pretty awesome too.
I cannot wait until the cool weather comes to Jacksonville. I am ready to spend my weekends bundled up in comfy wear long sleeves & pullovers. Victoria's Secret always carries the best cozy, soft clothes.
I am also loving this charcoal/ash grey colored sweats. I have been seeing this color pop up all over the place & I think it is such an awesome color, much better then the plain ole grey sweats. I would definitely love lounging around in either of these.

So what are you favorite weekend clothes to relax in?

Meatless Monday

Lately, I have been slacking on the blogging. We have so much going on & I cannot wait to get back into a routine & get settled back into our life. So first things first, let's get back into the Meatless Monday posts. I have got some good ones for you this week.

I know I have probably mentioned it before, but I am the type of cook (ha! Did I just refer to myself as a cook? Ha!) that likes it to be simple. I love flavorful foods but I don't want to have to use ten million ingredients. So when looking for recipes of yummy foods to cook, the amount of ingredients is top priority for me.

Here are some delicious meals that seems to be pretty simple when it comes to the ingredients...
PB & Honey Pancake Tacos w/ Bananas
Spicy Bean & Rice Burrito
Pasta with Snap Peas, Basil & Spinach
Lemon Garlic Brussels Sprouts
Quinoa Black Bean Burrito Bowls

Three Hundred & Sixty-Five Days

To my sweet Angel,

Three hundred & sixty-five days have gone by…

When I close my eyes, I can still see your face as you laid so peacefully; I can hear the sounds of your last gasps for air. The smell of the hospital room is permanently embedded in my nasal passage. I can hear the nurse’s voice, very vividly, as she said “12:22”.  I will never forget the way your hands felt, clammy and swollen… and the way the way my heart skipped a beat when I felt you move, when I talked to you (did you hear me? I'll never know...). I remember the way I felt when I looked back at you in your hospital room… & as I was getting in the elevator feeling the most incredibly empty feeling that I had ever felt in my entire life- knowing that, that was the last time I would be with you on Earth.
Three hundred & sixty-five days have gone by & honestly, every day, I cannot make sense of it all or make it seem real. On Saturdays, I always find myself reaching for my phone to text you to find out what your weekend to-do list is… then I realize that you cannot text from Heaven (although I wish you could). There are so many times where I am truly overwhelmed with a mix of emotions.

Sad, because I spent so much of my life without you, then I got you back; only to lose you again a short time later. Sad, because you did not get to see the person I truly became or everything that I accomplished in life. Sad, because we missed out on movies, lunches, holidays, laughter & tears; and even more sad because my future babies will never meet their grandpa.

With the sad, comes the happy; happy that I was able to spend time with you before you went to Heaven. I made you your very last Easter basket filled with goodies to satisfy your sweet tooth. We were able to have a cookout as a family- with a day of floating in the pool, laughing and being together.  We watched the fireworks in the rain on the 4th of July. We had several dinners in front of the TV watching some of our favorite shows & making fun of the freaks. Something that makes me even happier, that I will never forget, is that I got goodnight kisses from you just like when I was a kid- followed by “Goodnight Sweet pea!” Those are the times that I will cherish.

There isn't a day that goes by that I don't think about you. Three hundred & sixty-five days later & I still do not understand why?! But if there is one thing I do understand, it is something that you always told me... is that "nothing lasts forever".

I love you my sweet Angel. You will live forever in my heart & I will never forget you.

Lovely And Oh-So-Pinteresting {kitchen inspiration}

Ever since we put our house on the market & started looking at new homes to build, I have been on non-stop design mode. Our next house that we move into is going to be a home that we are going to be in for quite a long time, so I want it to be almost perfect. Even though it is going to basically be our forever home, we still have a budget that we're working with. With that being said, our interior choices will definitely be budget friendly.

We have several neighborhoods & model homes that we have in mind, unfortunately we are just waiting for our house to sell. In the meantime, I have been pinning away some ideas for our future dream budget friendly kitchen...
I am obsessed white (as you can tell)! I feel like it makes a space bright, clean & spacious. I am probably insanely crazy for wanting white cabinets when my husband is oh-so-sloppy, but I have to have them. Subway tile as our back splash is also a must have for me; I am loving white & light gray with white grout. The only part of the kitchen that I will probably be super indecisive about is the counter top. I know that I want it to be light- just not sure if I want a white/tan or white/light grey.

So which kitchen look is your favorite?

Friday Favorites

Happy Friday !
This is truly my favorite day of the week... I love knowing that I can sleep in the next day & do whatever I want. No alarms, no meetings... just shopping, relaxing, & having fun!

So let's chat about my favorites lately. I am literally obsessed with printed tees. There are so many awesome ones out there that I love. They are light-weight & good to keep cool in this miserably hot Florida weather.

A lot of stores are having awesome sales right now on Summer clothes, while browsing through AE online I found some cute jeans shorts. They would be good to stock up, since they are on major sale & soon all of the stores are going to be heading towards the warmer side.

This weekend I will probably take advantage of some of the good sales going on. The weather in Florida does not get cooler until maybe December, so it stinks that all of the stores down here get rid of the Summer clothes so soon. I will say that I am totally jealous of all of these northern states that had a few days of Fall weather.

Well I hope you all have a great weekend- Ill be enjoying the blistering 90's :)

Lovely & Oh-So-Pinteresting {Design Inspiration}

Throughout the years, I have found so many creative & inspiring people on Pinterest. One of them is Amber Interiors. Her decorating style is truly breathtaking. It is everything that I could dream of & more. She had me at her incredibly artistic ways of mixing the most gorgeous patterns, all while making everything look so clean & airy. Her work is complete perfection
I love all she does... It is truly to die for.

I may not be able to ever afford the pieces that she uses in her designs, but my goal is to bring that style & use it as inspiration for our future home.

Follow her blog & you will thank me later !

Meatless Monday

You know what time it is... meatless Monday!! So did any of you try the sweet potato chips from last week?! If so, you're welcome.. I know they were yummy

I am going to attempt to make a meal each week from the meatless Monday posts that I do each week. There are so many that I want to make, so it will be interesting to see if the pictures live up to how good they look (I hope so).

I couldn't resist posting this cute little breakfast banana plate. Bananas covered in peanut butter, rolled through rice crispy cereal- yum! This would be healthy & cute for little ones too :)
Lately my favorite sides are broccoli and sweet potatoes. So when I saw these I knew that I had to post them. They both seem so easy to make & they could also be dishes that can be made for holidays (yes, I am counting down to the next holiday already).
I have had a serious craving for salads lately & these look so scrumptious!!

Happy Monday !! Hope it is yummy :) !!
