Fall Favorites

The weather in Florida has been hot as hell but with the holidays coming I can't help but dream of bundling up & layering tons of Fall style clothes.
I feel like every year I love the look of chambray, infinity scarves & open knit cardigans & sweaters; preferably all layered. In Florida, layering clothes is a must because when you wake up in the morning it is cool & breezing and by the afternoon you're sweating like a beast (insert Nelly's song "it's getting hot in here...").

Here are some things that I am loving right now for Fall...

Well there you have it, some of my ultimate Fall favorites. Now if the weather would cooperate, I could wear some of these sooner than later.

Home Tour: Den

We have lived in our house for about four months now & although there are lots of little things that I still want to buy for each room, the majority of the house is decorated. Our first room to be completely done is our den. Most of the items in this room we had in our loft at our old house; that was my favorite room so I knew that I wanted to keep the same look.
My goal was to keep it completely neutral & furry, with a little pop of color with the curtains. Right now this room is just another sitting room in our house, but it will someday become our future kids playroom. With that being said, I wanted to make sure that we had a lot of storage (lots of baskets and shelves) and an mini TV stand with a storage cabinet. We haven't bought a TV yet, so I guess this room isn't totally completed (::wink wink::).
Anyways, here are some photos from our almost completed den...
We are really enjoying this new space in our home, especially my husband ever since he added his prized possessions in there.. his deer heads. It has been about a month since they have been up on the wall & the shock is wearing off. They look okay in the space, but I'll spare you the pictures (they're on each side of the storage shelf, if you're wondering) & reassure you that when we do have children they will come down.
Marriage is about compromising after all, isn't it?!

Hello November!

I cannot believe that it is November already; this year has truly flew by in the blink of an eye. Now that we're in our new house, I want to create some new memories now that this month marks the start to my two favorite holidays, ever! I, of course, did a little decorating for Fall/Thanksgiving around our house to get the upcoming holidays started.
In hopes that the weather here in Florida gets a cooler, I wanted to think of some fun things that my husband & I can on the weekends. This time of year is my favorite and this will give us something to look forward to each week.

I've been wanting to go to a true farmer's market for so long & the other day I found out that there is one every single Saturday right near our new house. It would be nice to be able to walk around without sweating to death & get a bundle of fresh fruits & veggies that don't cost an arm and a leg. There are also quite a few upcoming little festivals in downtown St. Augustine that we will try to visit.

At the moment, the weather is still in the mid-80's every week here in Florida, but I thought it would be a good & super yummy idea to have Sunday [crockpot] Soups in November. I am not a chicken noodle soup kinda girl, so I found some different soups that I am excited for us to try out. I sway more towards creamy soups, only problem is that I eat dairy-free; therefore I've been on the search for a dairy-free alternative & it seems that coconut cream is going to be my go-to.
I am planning to make gluten free & dairy free versions of the following: chicken & dumpling, baked potato soup, cream of tomato soupchicken enchilada soup & some my mom's homemade chili.

Hope all of you had a spooky Halloween & are ready for the cooler weather that November hopefully brings.
